2005 White Label

The Formby’s Run White Label range offers fabulous value for money, fruit driven wines. All the fruit for this range was sourced from our own Metala Vineyard plantings and naturally, the wines were made with the same attention to detail as our other ranges.

Clever blending has created soft, approachable wines for easy drinking now and for the next 4—5 years.

Guy’s Great, great grandfather, William Formby  was the first generation of our family to settle on Metala back in 1882.
In 2007 we celebrated our 125th
Anniversary of family ownership.

This wine is a classic example of the Shiraz grown in Langhorne Creek. The concentrated and lifted aromatics of this wine are complemented by a full mid palate with a hint of plum and raspberry.

Having enjoyed a long, warm ripening period in 2005, the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon have both developed elongated, smooth tannins. The strong fruit characters blend perfectly to provide a mouth filling, sensual wine which is both approachable and seductive.

This wine, produced from one of our most sought after blocks, displays silky tannins and a seamless palate which offers true varietal definition.
Notes of plum on the nose are followed by earthy and berry characters in the wine.

Cool climate influences can be found in the citrus overtones of this wine. Pineapple and lime aromas lead to a satisfying mouthful of long flavours which are free of the influence of heavy wood characters.
