Brothers In Arms, the essence of Langhorne Creek, evolved from five generations of grape growing tradition. The vines my great-great grandfather planted in 1891 led to the estate vineyard known as “Metala” vineyard, recognised as one of the most famous in South Australia. The Brothers in Arms label, released in 1998 is rich in old vine fruit, some as old as 117 years! For years one of the wine industry’s best kept secrets, Langhorne Creek is now a strong premium wine producer in its own right. The “blood” that flows through the veins here is red ~ Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. This is red wine country.
At Brothers in Arms, we put our heart into full bodied wine that is true to the estate and true to the region. Our estate wines showcase our quality fruit and reflect the spirit of our family tradition. Since 1998 we have achieved national & international recognition for our Brothers in Arms bottled beauties.
Please explore our cellar door and enjoy wines inspired by history!

Brothers in Arms heads to the US and China
Over 3 weeks in September Guy & Liz were pounding the pavements across the US as we relaunched the 2002 Brothers in Arms Shiraz and the 2004 No6 Shiraz Cabernet in the market. Visits included Dallas, Boston, New York State, New Jersey, Detroit and San Deigo. We were really encouraged by the interest all our customers showed in our wines and really appreciated the support of our Importer, Vinatge Point, as well as our distributors and their wonderful sales teams across the country. We were lucky enough to visit our UK distriburtors, Tanners Wines, also.
We have also had 2 trips to China in the past few months with another planned for early December. Brothers in Arms has formed a new partnership with St George Cellars based in DongGuan and has already established a strong presence in the market. St George Cellars owner Andrew Huang is developing a niche market through innovative offerings to the increasingly savvy Chinese consumer. St George Cellars only stock Australian wines with each brand being selected for it's regionality and attention to style. We will be attending the Food & Hospitality China Expo in Shanghai from December 4-6.

2004 No6 Shiraz Cabernet
“Smooth, sumptuous and meaty with a minty confiture-like expression of blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and redcurrants handsomely backed by smoky vanilla and chocolate-like oak with spicy undertones of cinnamon. Backed by firmish, fine tannins, its plush, creamy palate delivers a ripe core of flavour with underlying nuances of bacon, dried herbs and menthol, finishing with persistent fruit, pepper and spice.”
“Rather plush and deeply flavoured, the No.6 offers some terrific value for money.”
90 POINTS – Jeremy Oliver, “The Australian Wine Annual 2009”
2006 Formby & Adams Cutting Edge Cabernet Shiraz
“Cutting edge? More a classic Langhorne Creek rendition of the rockabilly Aussie cabernet-shiraz blend (85%/15%): earthy regional dark fruits, some fresh leaves and mint. Supple and smooth entry, dark fruit flavours, chocolate and earthy complexity, it lays up for the finish with fine savoury/tarry tannin.”
90 POINTS – Nick Stock, “The Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2009”
The prestigous US Wine magazine Tasting Panel recently reviewed our wines.
